Eagle Crest Award

This award is theme based every year, and is rewarded to the student who embodies the 5 pillars of the Eagle Crest dictated in our handbook. The student is rewarded for completing tasks, and upholding these standards of the theme and crest by being the recipient.

#BACK2BACK State Titles

The Dawson High School Sports Medicine team recently received their fifth Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society (GHATS) regional championship becoming the first-ever back-to-back champions. Victory at GHATS allowed Dawson High School to defend its 2023 state title at the 2024 Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association (TSATA) State Student Athletic Training Aid Competition at Tarleton State University. The State Championship team this year comprised of junior students Haile Pamoja, Laila Groves, Mustafa Madinawala, Maddie Locklear, and sophomore students Tatum Langley, Katie Roth, and Myla Jabbar. The team is led by the award-winning athletic training staff, including two alumni from Dawson High School. Their staff is comprised of head athletic trainer Christina Fry class of 2012, team sponsor and assistant athletic trainer Joseph B. Eberhardt class of 2015, and assistant athletic trainer Thomas Patrey.

This team was honored by Mayor Kevin Cole on June, 24 2024 at the city council meeting, agenda linked here. This team was being rewarded the prestigious honor of a City of Pearland Proclamation declaring May 20th, the day of Dawson High School Sports Medicine Team's successful title defense Glenda Dawson High School Sports Medicine Team Day!

First Ever Team State Title In DHS History

On June 19th 2023, school history occurred for Glenda Dawson High School. The Glenda Dawson Student Athletic Training Aid Program traveled to Stephenville, TX to compete in the Texas Athletic Trainers Association (TSATA) State Student Athletic Training Aid Competition at Tarleton State University. This team state championship is the first in Glenda Dawson High School history. Glenda Dawson High School is a prestigious campus with many athletic, academic, and fine arts success to award many state finalists and individual state champions, but a team state title has eluted the campus until this summer. The Glenda Dawson Student Athletic Training Aid Program has secured the first ever team state title in schools short fourteen year history. The State Championship team is comprised of senior student Vanessa Martinez Ruiz, junior student Omar Mohammad, and sophomore students Haile Pamoja, Laila Groves, Mustafa Madinnawala, and Maddie Locklear. The team is highly educated and lead by the award-winning athletic training staff, including two alumni from Glenda Dawson High School. Their staff is comprised of head athletic trainer Christina Fry class of 2012, team sponsor and assistant athletic trainer Joseph B. Eberhardt class of 2015, and assistant athletic trainer Thomas J. Patrey.
